Mariano Fortuny.

Mariano Fortuny, was born of a family of renowned artists in Granada, Spain, on May 11, 1871. He moved with his mother and sister to Paris, where he took painting lessons with Benjamin Constant and sculpture in Rodin's atelier. It was in the transalpine capital that his artistic talent was revealed. In 1889 he moved to Venice where he remained for the rest of his artistic career, despite frequent trips abroad. As a teenager, Mariano was animated by an industrious creativity, which made him a prolific painter, engraver, binder, sculptor, photographer, architect and inventor.
